Signs of the End Times in Bible Prophecy

As in the Days of Noah

Why did God choose to destroy the people that lived
during the days of Noah?  What was their sin?

Genesis 6:11
The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.

Genesis 6:12
And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.

Genesis 6:13
And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them from the earth.

Merriam - Webster dictionary defines the word corrupt as:

To change from good to bad in morals, manners, or actions;
To degrade with unsound principles or moral values
To alter from the original or correct form or version
To become morally debased

Jesus said, " Luke 17:26-30 "And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

Yes, we are a corrupt and violent nation and world, and life continues as usual today, as it was in the days of Noah. This prophetic Word by Jesus in Luke 17:26-30 was not given to emphasize routine and mundane events of the last days, but to help us see how the very clear signs of His emanate return would be ignored right up to the moment He comes in the Heavens to redeem His own. Christ also used the days of Noah as an equivalence to the last days, the end times just before His return, because He knew that the world today would be living in extreme sin and flagrant rebellion against God. As in the days of Noah the earth is due a cleansing, a wiping up of the stain of sin that man has once again spilled upon this planet.

Does the following prophecy describe the condition of mankind in the world today?

2Timothy 3:1-7 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy. Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good. Traitors, heady, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God. Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

The Ark was the clear warning to the people in Noah's time, yet they ignored it.

The exact number of years it took to build the Ark is not specified in the Bible, but most scholars agree on between 84 and 120 years. The Arc was in full view of the surrounding cities and when you consider it was 450 feet long, 75 feet wide, and 45 feet in height, it was certainly not overlooked by anyone within miles around. Consider the ludicrous notion that Noah and his sons chose not to build this gigantic boat in a port, on a river, or lake, but in the middle of the desert. Also think about how many people must have heard of its construction and came to see for themselves over the decades of time that passed. There were probably even regular jokes going around about the crazy old man building a boat in the desert.

My point being; how many people during those roughly one hundred years of construction came to Noah and asked him with a sincere and searching heart why he was doing this? How many listened to him, believed the prophetic warnings of God that he told them of, and then repented? The Bible states clearly that not one living human survived the flood other than Noah, his wife, their three sons; Shem, Ham and Japheth, and the three sons' wives. Even though God had a century earlier sent out a prophetic warning in the form of a four story high, 450 feet long, 75 feet wide boat sitting in the desert, only eight members of the same family survived the flood. No one else came, listened, and repented. If they had, I believe they would have been forgiven by our long suffering and merciful God and welcomed on board the Arc and unto salvation from God's wrath.

Today, as in the days of Noah, the prophetic warnings are as visible as a giant Arc parked conspicuously in the desert. Yet, only a few of us are stopping to see what is going on. Very few are asking about the prophetic warnings, and even less are repenting and asking to come onboard the only hope of Salvation from the coming wrath of God.

Genesis 5:29 And he called his name Noah, saying, This same shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD hath cursed.

Genesis 5:32 And Noah was five hundred years old: and Noah begat Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

Genesis 6:8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

Genesis 6:9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

Genesis 6:13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

Genesis 6:22 Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.

Genesis 7:1 And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.

Genesis 7:5 And Noah did according unto all that the LORD commanded him.

Genesis 7:6 And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth.

Genesis 7:7 And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him, into the ark, because of the waters of the flood.

Genesis 7:9 There went in two and two unto Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as God had commanded Noah.

Genesis 7:13 In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah's wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark;

Genesis 7:15 And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life.

Genesis 7:23 And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.

Genesis 8:1 And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters assuaged;

Genesis 8:6 And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made:

Genesis 8:11 And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf plucked off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth.

Genesis 8:13 And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry.

Genesis 8:18 And Noah went forth, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him:

Genesis 9:1 And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.

"Luke 17:26-30 "And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

And the rest of the people of the entire world that had not found grace in the eyes of the Lord, and had not repented, were condemned by their sins.  Without further warning the floods came and took them and they perished. And they were lost forever.

Jesus Christ is the only ark of salvation made available by God to this generation today. Recognize your hopelessness without God, repent of your ways with a broken and contrite heart, and ask God to forgive you of your sins. Accept Christ Jesus as your Savior and King and you will be saved from the coming wrath of God.
